McDonald’s (MCD) – Get McDonald’s Corporation Report can’t really conceal when it’s testing a new flavor at even a small number of locations since it has such a loyal following of McFlurry aficionados. According to reports, the fast-food behemoth is now testing a peanut butter crunch McFlurry at a few chosen locations in Pasadena, Calif.
The new frozen treat, which was discovered by a reporter for fast food site Chew Boom, is available for $3.59 at certain locations around the city, according to the reporter. This McFlurry, which is a mix of the chain’s vanilla soft serve ice cream with a variety of candy and toppings, is said to have peanut butter, chocolate, and cookies among its many ingredients.
“There’s no shortage of cookie action with this, folks,” Ian Keiner, the YouTuber behind the popular Peep THIS Out! channel, says in a video review of the new McFlurry. “There’s no shortage of cookie action with this, people,” he adds. “It appears to be a peanut butter-type cookie blended with chocolate, but it has a really strong peanut butter flavor to it that I really enjoy. “It combines so beautifully with the vanilla, and this is just an extremely, really wonderful dish,” says the chef.
In response to TheStreet’s inquiry about whether McDonald’s will be introducing a Peanut Butter and Crunch McFlurry across the country, the company did not immediately react to our request for confirmation.
A Brief Overview of the McFlurry’s History
The McFlurry, which was first introduced in 1997 and swiftly gained popularity across the country, is often topped with Oreo cookies or M&Ms, among other toppings.
The firm has also introduced a number of limited-edition and seasonal tastes throughout the years, including one with Cadbury Crème eggs for Easter in Canada and Bubblegum Squash (not the vegetable, but rather a local term for marshmallow) in Australia, to name a few. There are still many lovers of the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup McFlurry in the United States.
However, the good news is that, for those who adored the original Peanut Butter Crunch McFlurry, the new Peanut Butter Crunch McFlurry is likewise packed with peanut butter and is expected to have a taste that is quite comparable.
As Keiner stated in his video review, “This is giving me Reese’s feeling, folks, and that’s a great thing.”
But, what exactly is going on with all of these broken McFlurry machines?
Despite the fact that the demand for McFlurrys has been stable over the years, damaged machines have become the topic of several online memes in the last year.
Complaints from customers who have gone in for a McFlurry and been told that the machine that makes them is broken have been common enough to attract the attention of the Federal Trade Commission.
