Taylor allegedly approached a woman who was shopping with her infant in a car seat and her one-year-old boy in a shopping cart at a Walmart in Crockett, Texas, about 120 miles north of Houston, on Jan. 13.

Taylor allegedly remarked on the woman’s son’s blonde hair and blue eyes and inquired “how much she could get him for,” according to an affidavit obtained by NBC News.

The mother “attempted to laugh off Taylor’s remark, believing he was joking. Taylor informed her that she had $250,000 in her car and that she was prepared to spend that amount for him. “(The mother) stated that no amount of money would suffice,” according to the affidavit.

“Taylor stated that he was the ideal match and that she had been desiring to purchase a child for a long time,” the affidavit stated.

The mother stated to authorities that Taylor was with another woman, who inquired as to the child’s name, which the mother refused to divulge.

Taylor and the other woman became aware of the child’s name and began “addressing him by his name,” according to the affidavit.

Taylor allegedly began screaming at the mother in the parking lot, “claiming that if she wouldn’t take $250,000 for him, she would offer her $500,000 because she desired him and was going to take him,” the affidavit stated.

Taylor stood behind a black SUV next to her mother’s vehicle once she was in the automobile. Taylor often stated that she desired the child and would pay $500,000 in cash for him, according to the affidavit. She eventually got into the black SUV and drove away.

According to police, surveillance video from the business corroborated the mother’s account.

Taylor’s residence was visited by the officer who filed the affidavit to ask her about the incident.

“She stated that she dislikes thieves and then instructed me to contact her attorney and to get off her ‘precipice.’ “She slammed the door shut,” according to the affidavit.

According to jail records, she had bonded out of the Houston County Jail on Thursday. NBC News’ attempts to reach Taylor for comment were unsuccessful, and it was unclear whether she had retained a counsel.
